Today

I'm laying on the couch. You are nestled in my arm, heavily slumbering. These dreams have been hard to reach today. Whatever battles we have fought today have finally ceased. Both of us now breathing shallow.

And it is in this moment, right here, that I realize it's funny - life. motherhood. childhood. And perhaps more importantly, it - life. motherhood. childhood. - is forgiving. As you bury your body into mine, I know that you have forgiven my misunderstandings. I am new at this, after all. And you, so new at this too, keep changing.

Each day you wake a different baby. I, a different mother. Us, a different family. There have been tears and laughs and lots of love and a few Cheerios.

Just a typical Monday.
