And on those days I roll up my sleeves, whip up a batch of homemade finger paint, strip down the toddler, and let things go where they may.
I learn just as many lessons as him, like do NOT give a toddler a whole cup full of paint at one time nor a spoon to glob it out in big heaps.
This will not result in the cool, abstract toddler art worthy of the fridge-hang. But, it will ensure a happy, out of the norm afternoon for all involved.
And I suppose that is what makes life beautiful anyway.
